The old town packs the best of Scottish history and scenery and the best way to discover everything is on foot. You can start your tour from the St. Andrews Cathedral which at one point was the largest church in Scotland. When here, you can climb on the 12th century Rule's Tower and enjoy the excellent views of the town, stretching as far as Fife! The medieval structure is almost in ruins but the in-house museum preserves a large number of sculptures and important relics to keep you entertained for a long time.

The best thing that you can do in a place as beautiful as St. Andrews is going on a treasure trail. The St Andrews Spy Mission Treasure Trail has been designed to take you around the town, offering clues and teaching you about the interesting history of the place along the way! The guided tours along the Old Course are another excellent way to explore the natural side of things in the town.

If you are not already tired of walking, you can also go on a bit longer trail along the Fife Pilgrim Way and explore the unspoilt side of nature!
