East Shore, St Andrews

As previous have said, this accommodation is the place to be. Fantastic location, right by the beach so you can take walks and build bonfires. Very friendly community, Lauren and Pammy are always up for a chat. Any issues you have are sorted out in a timely manner, and Nigel is always happy to help (+chat!). Regular events take place onsite, and decorations go up so its feels very homely. The rooms are a good size, beds are good. Ensuites are also a great bonus here, a great size with everything you need. There's the added bonus of being able to get a sea view room, which has beautiful views of the beach. The kitchens can get messy, but they are a great size with ample communal space. You get cupboards and fridge-freezer space, as well as hobs and ovens. You can definitely make this place feel like home, and out of all the places available I'd definitely pick East Shore again!

Wonderful sea view and wonderful location- the fife coastal path and beach is just a minute away, and makes for a lovely scenic walk into town along East Sands. Pammy and the rest of the staff are very friendly and accommodating, and do all in their power to create the best experience for each and every student. Would heartily recommend as an accommodation option!

Such a brilliant staff, extremely helpful and accommodating to any needs of all students here! The events organised are lovely and promote a lovely atmosphere within the homes!

Nice view and quite place. I have a standard en-suite at East Shore. The room size is same as the one in the university dorm Powell Hall. The price is cheaper! As a tread off, you will need to share the kitchen area with more people. I don’t cook a lot, so it is okay for me. East shore is a bit far away from campus, but there’s buses. It takes me around 20 mins one way to get to the chemistry building everyday.

This place could not be more ideal. Though there were few spots of water damage in my room, I have no other complaints. The location is far enough away from St Andrews that there are not in crowds, but it is close enough that one can still walk to class easily enough. Seagulls welcome the morning with their call. From the compound, an observer can watch the sun or moon rise over the water, sparkling on the tides. The rooms feel modern and stylish in a chic, Scandinavian way. You should not need support, but if you do, the front desk provides exemplary service. The official St Andrews housing system wanted to strand me in Dundee, so my gratitude to this place cannot be more immense.
