Reviews for The Dolphin, Southampton

July 04, 2026I paid a large sum in rent for accommodation with Dolphin Student Living. The building never opened at any point during my tenancy, so I was placed in alternative accommodation for the entire academic year. Throughout the year, I was repeatedly assured in writing that my rent would be refunded at the end of the contract. Those assurances led me to continue with the arrangement and continue making the scheduled rent payments, rather than cancelling the contract or seeking an alternative solution. After my tenancy ended, I continued chasing for payment and received written confirmation of the refund amount. Despite this, I have still not received my refund. My experience has been extremely disappointing. While individual staff members were polite, the company has failed to honour the written assurances it gave me or resolve the matter despite repeated promises.

Google January 20, 2026Visited here the first time for the England Colombia World Cup game. The atmosphere is great, the interior is decorated with a 60s/70s rock theme, there's a lovely shady beer garden which is fantastic in the summer. Food is great, I've eaten here 3 times now (twice for the Sunday roast which is lovely). The drinks are fairly priced (£3.50 for an Amstel). The owners are really friendly and allow you to order takeaways there when the kitchen isn't open - and even provide plates, cutlery and napkins! This place has a nice buzz and a nice atmosphere and I'm so glad to have this pub as my local!

Google January 20, 2026First time I've been in this pub for years. Welcoming feeling, good selection of drinks & friendly staff. Came down to support a mate in Open Mic and it's got a lovely atmosphere missing from so many places. Will certainly look at returning in the not too distant future!
