Complete guarantor formalities: If paying rent by instalments using a guarantor, arrange for the guarantor to provide proof of ID and address and sign the agreement as required.
Pay the first rent instalment: Follow the payment schedule stated in the agreement. The first rental instalment must be paid before move-in.
Receive booking confirmation: Retain the booking confirmation and payment acknowledgement. For the 2026/27 academic year, some properties may have a specific agreement-signing process while regulatory changes are finalised.
Complete pre-arrival formalities: Watch the induction video and book a move-in slot when Fresh contacts the student before the tenancy starts.

Do I Need a Guarantor?
Most properties require a guarantor, who will pay the rent if you can't. Your guarantor must be over 18, not live in a Fresh-managed property, and can reside outside the UK. After signing the contract, your guarantor must provide ID, proof of address, and sign the agreement. Some properties may allow you to pay the full year's rent upfront to avoid needing a guarantor. Check with the Residents’ Team if this option is available.
What is Advance Rent?
Most properties require advance rent when booking. This is refundable if you cancel within the cooling-off period, your place is withdrawn, or you cannot get a UK visa. This advance rent will go towards your first rent installment.

Do You Need a Guarantor?
Most landlords and letting agents require a UK-based guarantor. Without one, you may be asked to pay your full year's rent upfront. i have lived oldway for two academic university Years now,i would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to live that doesnt want a shared house, there is the opportunity for friends to book rooms in the same flat, or have a studio, the room and ammendities on site quality you get for the price you pay is amazing. The rooms are great quality and the staff are quick to respond to any maintenance issues. Theyre communicative and really social with the residents. The location is perfect situating a roughly ten minute walk to the clubs for nights out and to the town for food and shops, a 2 minute walk to the train Station and a small tesco, and a bus stop to travel campus right behind the accomodation, with the route getting you campus within 20-30 minutes, the gym facilities are of great quality too, and dont Tend to get overcrowded though early morning is better, but it saves Not having to buy a membership elsewhere and is open 24/7. I would highly recommend this as a place to live, and they have rebooking offers, saved £900 by rebooking the same room i was in last year and That Greatly helped me and my parents pay what my loan cover, ive loved living here and would 100% recommend it to everyone Going into second, third year or masters

I’ve been in Oldway for 3 years now and I have to say that they are very accommodating and have an amazing staff. They have the essential facilities such as study area, games room and a decent size gym. The room size big enough and the prices are very reasonable with very discounts when you reapply.On top of that they are positioned neared everything such as the train station, town centre and Parc Tawe. Hundred recommend if your looking for a private accommodation.
