Editing to add the comments I stayed here last year and honestly believe it’s one of the best places to live in Sheffield. While it is likely the most expensive option, it is worth every penny for the luxury and convenience. The accommodation itself is located in a very fancy area surrounded by nice buildings and professional businesses, making it feel like the best part of the city to live in. Everything is on your doorstep with a Tesco right in front, bubble tea and coffee shops just steps away, and it's only a short walk to Devonshire Street which has the best independent shops. A huge highlight is the free shuttle bus to the university every half hour. It was always on time and got me to the Management School in just seven minutes, which saved me a lot of money on Ubers. The free breakfast is a nice touch, but it can be frustrating as they are a bit stingy with quantities. The main food is often gone by 7:40 am or even early. I use to get there around 7:30 and almost everyday I found no eggs and had to request the staff to bring out. The cleaning service is generally amazing and it’s great to have your room cleaned every two weeks, though it depends on who you get. One lady was very rushed and would leave the room smelling like a dirty mop, but most of the staff are very thorough. With regard to the room, it’s absolutely amazing, water pressure is great, and appliances are high quality. You should also be aware that there is construction nearby that will likely last a few years. If you don't like noise, try to get a higher floor, and you eventually get used to it. The laundry situation is a bit mixed. The machines are expensive and you should definitely use your own detergent because the built-in stuff is terrible. One thing that really bothered me was seeing the staff wash all the cleaning cloths used for toilets and rooms in the resident machines at 3:00 am. It’s a bit crazy to think our clothes go in those same machines. However, a big plus is that if a machine breaks, the reception staff can restart it for you for free, which is much better than other places where you have to deal with a third-party company. Check in was terrible, my room was dirty on arrival like can’t you go and check whether room is cleaned or not before student arrival. It takes a second. However, it was cleaned the next day (should have done the same day!) The reception and maintenance staff are very lovely and friendly. Overall, if you can afford it go for it. If looking for other good options then steelworks is one of them depending on which room you have chosen.
