About Sheffield

If you’re coming to the “Steel City” aka, Sheffield for your University years, you will not be short of things to do. As well as ranking in the top 10 most affordable university towns, it won’t break the bank either. Hit the city center for some exciting nightlife or visit one of the many live music venues that the city has to offer. However, if you do want to splash some cash, head over to Meadow Hall shopping center where you won’t be short of shops or places to get a bite to eat.

They don’t say that Sheffield is the number one destination for outdoor enthusiasts for no reason. With the abundance of public gardens, England’s greenest city, and the only UK city with a national park within its bounds, let’s hope you’ve brought your walking shoes with you. The Peak District is just a half-hour drive away too for even more nature exploring.

Sheffield is also home to some awesome sporting history. Did you know that Sheffield FC is the oldest football club in the world? Pretty impressive, eh? The team now plays in the lower leagues of English football but the city is also home to Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday FC, both with Premier League histories. With all that history and professional ice hockey and basketball teams, you will always have something to go and watch whilst being a student.

Do you need a guarantor?

Without a UK rental guarantor, most landlords and agents will require you to pay the full year's rent upfront. We have partnered with Housing Hand who can provide you with a certificate of rental guarantee.
