A better living experience than the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. 24/7 gym is really useful to help get back into shape ready to fight off Sith Lords. The media room has a karaoke machine which was especially fun hearing Anakin sing his own rendition of "It's Raining Men (and not just the men, but the women and the children too)" Staff are just as friendly as Master Yoda and just as useful as an astromech droid. Strongly recommend to anyone studying the Jedi Arts in the area.

I would definitely recommend York house, after having trouble with my flat, grace was so helpful and lovely I really appreciate her help. The staff are so lovely and it’s really useful having staff at reception 24/7. I’ve had no issues with the building it’s a really lovely space.

I’ve been staying at York House for six months now, and I highly recommend it! After facing some issues with my flat, Grace was incredibly helpful and kind—I'm really so grateful for her support. The staff are all wonderful, and it’s really convenient having reception available 24/7. I’ve had no problems with the building—it’s a beautiful and well-maintained space.

The communal areas are really attractive and the facilities are great, but the rooms are very small. On arrival, my son’s room was dirty and dusty, and despite assurances that a new mattress would be provided as he has a dust allergy, that did not happen and I had to chase for a replacement. The shower hose was also broken, something cleaning staff should have noticed before he moved in. There is very little surface space in the rooms, as the desks are tiny, and we ended up buying a slim storage cabinet to make things usable. When viewing, I was told staff carried out regular room checks and would flag concerns if a student was struggling. Sadly, this did not happen for my son, and when I asked about it on move-out, I was told checks are only done if requested. With his flatmates having left months earlier, this was particularly worrying. The communal kitchen on move-out day was in an appalling state, with rotting food left behind by other tenants. As my son was the last to leave, I felt obliged to clean it to avoid deposit deductions. Despite leaving everything cleaner than when we arrived, I still had to chase York House for the deposit release. Move-in and move-out were a bit awkward. Reception told us no trolleys were available, yet we later found one in the bike store. Families had to unload in the loading bay with hazard lights on, and we ended up propping a back door open just to get my son’s things inside. Many families looked unsure of what to do. I understand it is a city centre, so I do not expect a car park, but it would be helpful if on move-in day staff could have trolleys available and provide guidance on the most efficient way to move quickly so cars can be cleared from the loading bay. My son was happy enough at York House. To be fair, he found staff helpful on reception when he needed anything and he enjoyed the communal spaces, but there are definitely improvements to be made. Overall, while the property looks nice on the surface, I was disappointed by the lack of welfare checks, the cleanliness on arrival, and the absence of proper kitchen checks at move-out, so I can only give 3 stars.

Unfortunately, my experience at this accommodation was very disappointing. Throughout the night, there was extreme noise from the students. They were banging loudly on the doors — especially my door — and I kept waking up from deep sleep because of the constant knocking. I felt completely unsafe. I was forced to leave the place in the middle of the night, in the cold and rain, even though I had already paid for two nights in advance. The situation was frightening and unbearable. When I informed the manager about what happened, he showed no concern at all and simply told me I could book another hotel and leave, without offering any solution or support. The only person who helped me was the receptionist, who kindly assisted me in packing my bags and leaving at that late hour. Unfortunately, I did not feel safe at all, and I will not return.
