  • What Happens If I Want To Cancel My Booking

    • What Happens If I Want To Cancel My Booking

    Get in touch and tell us straight away. How much we can help will depend on the timing and the circumstances of your cancellation.
    Licence Agreements are legally binding, so once you have signed and returned your contract, you're required to pay your rent. If (under special circumstances only) you need to withdraw from the Licence Agreement, we'll try to find a replacement Licensee for your room, but we can't guarantee we'll be able to. If a new Licensee is found, then we can release you from your licence, but there will be a re-licence fee*. If you require a copy of the re-licence terms and conditions, please get in touch with us.

    Once you have paid your Advance Rent and you have been allocated a room, then, should you decide to cancel, the amount is equal to the lesser of
    (i) the Advance Rent and
    (ii) the amount equivalent to one week’s Licence Fee is non-refundable.
     If you have paid the Advance Rent and the licence agreement has been accepted by both parties, then you will be held to the terms of the licence until a replacement licensee is found.

    Once signed, you're legally bound to pay rent. If cancelling, we try to find a replacement licensee, with a re-licence fee applicable.

     You're committed to full rent unless a replacement is found. Refunds for unused rent are given once the new licensee's booking is confirmed.
  • Guarantor

    If you want to pay your rent in instalments, we accept both UK and International guarantors. This is someone willing to sign a contract saying they’ll pay your rent if you fail to do so. Your guarantor cannot be another student or the government. In the circumstances where you do not have a guarantor, you can register with Housing Hand, who will act as a guarantor, subject to meeting their terms and conditions.
    Alternatively, you will need to pay your rent for the whole Licence Agreement/AST in advance.

Do You Need a Guarantor?

Most landlords and letting agents require a UK-based guarantor. Without one, you may be asked to pay your full year's rent upfront. To help students navigate this, we've partnered with Housing Hand, which can provide a recognised certificate of rental guarantee, giving both you and your landlord peace of mind.

It's worth knowing that several of our student halls don't require a UK-based guarantor at all, allowing students to pay rent in convenient instalments instead.     5/5 – Great Pick & Mix Event! Had a brilliant time at the pick and mix event! The setup was fun, well-organised, and had loads of great options to choose from. Alex and Tash were serving and did an amazing job – super friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience even better. Everything ran smoothly and the atmosphere was really enjoyable. Definitely recommend and would love to go again!

    Staying at Glasshouse Accommodation has been a really nice experience for me. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and feel like a proper home away from home. The location is also very convenient, especially as a student, with shops, transport, and the university all close by. What I liked most was how friendly and helpful the staff were—they were always quick to help whenever I needed anything. The place feels safe, welcoming, and easy to settle into. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed living here and would happily recommend it to other students.

    I’ve been living at Glasshouse since January and it’s been such an easy, comfortable place to settle into. This week (no classes, just assignments), I finally joined some of the activities; and honestly, I wish I’d done it sooner. Free food, games with prizes, wellness sessions… plus it’s a fun way to meet other friends! Repairs get sorted quickly, and the reception team are always kind and easy to talk to. Glasshouse feels more like a caring community than just student housing. Thanks for making it easier to be far from home. 🫶🫶

    I’ve been staying at The Glasshouse since September 17th, 2024, and overall, my experience has been excellent. The property offers a great balance of comfort, convenience, and community, which is especially important for students and professionals. The location is ideal—close to the city centre, universities, and transport links, making it easy to get around Nottingham. There are plenty of shops, supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance, which have made day-to-day life very convenient. My accommodation itself has been clean, modern, and well-maintained. The facilities, including the communal areas, laundry room, and study spaces, are all in good condition and regularly cleaned. I’ve appreciated the secure entry system and the friendly on-site team who are always ready to help with any issues promptly and professionally. What stands out most is the sense of community here. The management organises events and activities that make it easier to meet other residents and feel at home, even if you’re new to Nottingham.
