I love living at graystacks as it is very close to the city centre as well as supermarkets, a pub and gym just a few minutes walk away. There have been a few minor maintenance issues but they're mostly always fixed the same day as they are reported by the very friendly maintenance man. The building itself is very modern and the rooms are spacious. There are many positives to living here, which is the reason i am staying my second year at graystacks, but there are also a few negatives to bear in mind before deciding to move here. The rooms are not very soundproof so i can hear everyone in my stack very clearly as well as the persons music that backs onto my wall in the stack next to me and it makes my room shake nearly everyday and occasionally in the middle of the night, making it very hard to do work in my room. I have reported this one issue many times over the few months but nothing has come from it so it results in me having to do work downstairs which is annoying when you pay for a room. However, no one else has this issue so hopefully if you decide to stay you just dont have a noisy neighbour! One other minor negative to living here is that sometimes stacks will host parties that are extremely loud and i will hear people screaming, chatting and music at full volume till 5am which isnt great if you have a 9am lectrue the next day! But this is also what you would expect at any uni accomidation so this didnt suprise me much. I also would probably not recommend staying here if you are studying on clifton campus just because it is so far away and takes me sometimes up to an hour to get onto the campus making a 9am very difficult. This is just because the bus stop is a 20 minute walk away and the bus gets very busy in the mornings that sometimes it doesnt have room to pick you up. Additionally, the wifi is usually VERY slow and i use my data pretty much all day everyday. Apart from those few minor issues, i would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you're a social butterfly as there is always someone to hang out with as you live with 11 others in your stack. As well as a lovely cleaner that comes once a week. I've attatched some photos below of what the place looks like as i know when i was looking to come here all the photos were outdated and i was really stuggled finding out what the place would actually look like as all the photos online are in the old stacks. I have the ensuite canal view room and when i was looking last year i could only find pictures of the room being renovated so hopefully this helps!
