Most landlords and letting agents require a UK-based guarantor. Without one, you may be asked to pay your full year's rent upfront. To help students navigate this, we've partnered with Housing Hand, which can provide a recognised certificate of rental guarantee, giving both you and your landlord peace of mind.
It's worth knowing that several of our student halls don't require a UK-based guarantor at all, allowing students to pay rent in convenient instalments instead. To find out which properties qualify and how to get started, reach out to our team. We're happy to guide you through the booking process from start to finish.
An amazing student accommodation! Staff are on site 24/7 and are super friendly and approachable. Packages are delivered and stored correctly, there are plenty of social spaces and areas to invite friends. Gym is well equipped and free to residents, vending machine on site and it’s super close to uni’s and local shops. Would highly recommend!!

We initially booked to stay here for a couple of weeks over summer whilst visiting family but keep extending our stay and we honestly don't want to leave! The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly and make what is already an enjoyable stay even better! Its staffed 24/7 so feels really safe and the staff are on hand all the time! Room and facilities are spotless- cannot fault at all! The room is fully equipped with all the utensils and electronics you could need including convection microwave, hob, smart TV, kettle, toaster fridge. You also have your own enauite bathroom with shower. There's also a games room, cinema, study area, bar and gym within the building as well as the best views of the Tyne Bridge I've seen yet! There is also a huge kitchen which can be booked out for group meals to make you feel really at home! There's a great atmosphere here with a mostly post-grad/young professional clientele. The building is well insulted and sound proof so you really dont hear anything! Honestly cannot recommend Opto enough!

OPTO is a fantastic place to live no matter short or long term, student or professional, whatever the case. The management is super friendly and extremely helpful on all day to day matters. They will always make you feel important and your stay will be comfortable no doubt! A home away from home, with amazing public use areas for gym, ping pong, pool and movie room - all of which can be booked privately. Plus you have a fantastic rooftop view! Thanks for everything guys, mega appreciated 😁

The accommodation is very nice. The rooms are spacious and have very nice views of the city and they are super warm in the winter. The staff are super friendly and kind. Eli is one of the workers and he is super friendly and chatty, he's helpful with any issue that someone has. Diane works on the weekends and she is also extremely kind and lovely to have conversations with. The building is always clean and is filled with very lovely students.

I lived here last year in the river studio and had such a positive experience! Although it was mostly under True Student management before switching to Urban Student, the transition was seamless and we never had any issues. Compared to a lot of other student accommodation, this place really stands out. Maintenance requests were always dealt with quickly, and the staff at the desk were so lovely and helpful with anything we needed. The facilities are brilliant too, from the gym and study spaces to the outdoor seating areas and that amazing balcony view of the city! I honestly loved living here and would happily recommend it to any student in the city!
