The Metropolis, Newcastle-Under-Lyme

I have lived at The Met for the past year and really enjoyed staying here. The staff have been incredibly supportive throughout my time here, especially Oli and Phil. They are always happy to chat and genuinely care about the wellbeing of their residents, which makes a real difference and creates a supportive atmosphere. Another thing I've loved about living here is the view from my room. Being able to watch the sunset in the evenings and see fireworks from my window on special occasions has been a lovely bonus and has made my stay even more memorable.

The Met is a really nice and a safe place to live as uni students. The staff it nice snd friendly. Highly recommend it!! I enjoy staying here.

Pretty decent place, good location, the lift is okay, it works every now and then. Fairly easy to access buses to travel/commute. a little expensive but its not horrible, the staff are positive, even if the elevator gets broken fown the send notice via email right away. If you're on a higher floor than the 5th then u have a pretty decent view. Not having an oven kinda sucks but £100 quid oven from tesco does the job. Sound isolation aint the best, walls are a lil thin but it aint bad, the heating is good, ensuite bathroom is decent (do recommend) . Overall a solid 4* for an ensuite bathroom (but id give the pricing a 2.5*, its a lil high, lower costs also mean worse rooms). Not bad though 👍🏻

Having lived here for three years, I can confidently say that Phil has consistently been incredibly kind and helpful. He is always happy to assist with any issues, no matter how big or small, and his efforts have made our lives infinitely easier. His dedication to the residents and the smooth running of the accommodation is truly commendable. We are very fortunate to have him as our manager.

Philip, the building manager, has genuinely been the best part of living here. He’s an absolute legend—always friendly, approachable, and willing to go out of his way to help. No matter what the issue is, he’s quick to respond and actually takes the time to sort things properly. It’s clear he really cares about the residents and takes pride in what he does, which isn’t something you always get. Even when the accommodation itself has its downsides, Philip makes a huge difference day to day. Having someone that reliable and helpful on site honestly improves the whole experience.
