Cancellation policy

Our Guarantee to all International Students.

Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Booking Information for 2020/21

We fully understand that there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 at the moment and possible consequent travel restrictions. If you book a room for September 2020 today, but are then disallowed from travelling to the UK due to the relevant  Government travel restrictions, exclusively as a result of Covid-19 and therefore no longer require the room, you will be released from your booking – see below Terms & Conditions.

Terms & Conditions:

 • This guarantee is open to all international students applying for higher education in the UK for the 2020/21 academic year.

 • If an applicant is disallowed from travelling to the UK exclusively as a result of Covid19, they need to provide evidence from either the UK Government or from the  Government where you live confirming this advice (in English). This must be provided to the Host no later than 1st August 2020.

• On production of the relevant Government confirmation (in English), the applicant's booking will be cancelled in full, with a full refund of any 2020/21 rental payments made.

• All applicants wishing to take up this option need to contact the accommodation where they placed their booking directly in order to activate this Guarantee.

• Any applicants who do not provide evidence by the dates outlined above, will be held to their tenancy agreement and will be liable for all contractual charges.

• Email confirmation will be sent to all students that are accepted onto this guarantee once they have paid advance rent and confirmed their guarantor details where applicable.

• Please note in the case of dual occupancy both parties must be eligible for this guarantee in order for it to apply.

• Please note that if you cancel the room and rebook, the room may not be available, and the price may be revised in August and September 2020.

• These terms and conditions are correct as of 25th March 2020 but the property provider reserves the right to change them or remove this guarantee at any time without prior notice.

    Do You Need a Guarantor?

Most landlords and letting agents require a UK-based guarantor. Without one, you may be asked to pay your full year's rent upfront. To help students navigate this, we've partnered with Housing Hand, which can provide a recognised certificate of rental guarantee, giving both you and your landlord peace of mind.

It's worth knowing that several of our student halls don't require a UK-based guarantor at all, allowing students to pay rent in convenient instalments instead. To find out which properties qualify and how to get started, reach out to our team. We're happy to guide you through the booking process from start to finish.

    * Please note that additional charges apply for this service.

Nice place to live as a student. Did have dodgy fire alarms when I first moved in tho and is more on the expensive side

I've lived here for about three years now, and honestly, it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. First off, the location is perfect. It's right next to two corner stores and just a few minutes from Nancy Rothwell, which makes getting to class way easier, ESPECIALLY when you're running late, whether it be an Avionics lecture or a date ( 👁️ ͜👁️). The accommodation itself is really well maintained, and the staff are genuinely helpful and friendly. Big shoutout to Mr Darren, Ms Georgie, and previously Ms Molly. They’ve all been great at getting things sorted quickly, whether it’s maintenance issues or anything admin related. Always on point. The rooms in A block especially are spacious and designed well. There’s plenty of room to study, relax, and the views are pretty nice too. It might sound a bit cliché, but this place genuinely felt like home. I’ve made some amazing memories and friends here that I’ll carry with me for life.

A good choice for student accommodation! It has reasonable price(some apartments are too expensive😭), great location(less than 10-minute walk to the Engineering Building A of UOM), quiet surroundings which creates a good study atmosphere, great service and facilities(all staffs are friendly and supportive). I love this place and definitely will recommend to other people.

Cavendish is a nice residence for first year students considering the price and the location; however there are some issues that may not make this the best option. Advantages are that: 1. it’s very close to the MMU buildings and relatively close to Asda(for shopping, a 10 minute walk). 2. It has an app for maintenance and laundry. 3. You get biweekly cleaning of the kitchen. 4. Very secure building and hard to get inside without a key. Your rooms will be super safe. 5. Very nice shower(high pressure water) and toilet 6. Nice 3/4 bed, can fit two people. 7. Kitchen is big and spacious. 8. Very fast internet without any issues ever. All bills included as well However, there are some issues that made me change my accomodation this year. 1. It doesn’t have a student lounge or anywhere to chill out after a long day. It’s either your room or the kitchen. However, they do have lounges and free printing in a neighboring accommodation that is only a 300 meter walk so if you have plans for night out or anything you could just go there but still I found it to be an inconvenience . 2. During the summer there is no biweekly cleaning. Furthermore, you are promised a gift for the whole flat if you keep your flat clean for 5 consecutive biweekly visits but the gift is a 1£ chocolate which was not worth it at all; however it’s good to be clean regardless. 3. Reception is closed most of the time during the summer months and sometimes throughout the year but has never been a problem as you can have your issues resolved by a call or your packages delivered to the neighbouring accomodation...just an inconvenience 4. The doors are super loud when you open or close them. The handles just make this loud noise that sometimes can wake you up when your roommates come in late. 5. Laundry(washing and drying) is 4.70£ in total which I found to be very unfair. And about 30% of the time, after you wash your clothing it remains very wet and you will have to use the dryer at-least 2-3 times. At the reception you are told to contact the laundry company and I have done just that and never received a refund on some occasions. 6. The rooms that face the street, even with windows closed, you will hear loud cars and drunk people almost every night so if you have issues with noisy rooms keep that in mind. 7. There is no elevator for block B so if you live in the higher up floors be prepared to take your heavy shopping up multiple floors. 8. They do not have, as far as I knew, a place to collect your shipping stuff after hours as the reception often closes after 6 pm; but if you call them at anytime of the night someone will come to give you your package. 9. The higher up you live the warmer your room and vice versa(colder in ground floor). Heating is limited to one hour as it is with any other accommodation so you may have to buy another heater for your room. This review will be updated with more as they come to mind. If any questions, feel free to contact.
