It was an awful drive to get from where I live but once there, it was good. My son bought a flat near there, right opposite in fact, so I had to go there to pick up some furniture he no longer needed. It's right by the river Lea, so there's some views but it's still under development (the area that is). Canning Town station is nearby (10 min walk) and there are a number of blocks of apartments around the area. Personally, I prefer my house in north London as I don't need to lift my head in a nearly vertical position to see the sky. But it was all he could afford in London, on his own. It's near his workplace too. Which is always a bonus.

I currently live in the area. Whenever I need peace in the busy life I walk around the Thames iron works. It's nice that these old places are still around in this modern world.

A photo opportunity and place of pilgrimage for passing West Ham fans. It's a rather bleak spot if the weather is bad, but there are many things of interest by the river, especially around Trinity Buoy and Lighthouse. River views are good. Supporters of the Irons should also see the staircase at Canning Town station, which has a good explanation of the history of the Ironworks. COYI!

This was used in Layer cake as one of the characters houses where the Duke's head is kept in and is also the yard where Mobland is shot. Guy Ritchie likes to use this location
