Cancellation policy

Please review the property's terms.

  • Booking, Cancellation Policy, and Liability (England and Wales)
  • Booking, Cancellation Policy, and Liability (England and Wales)

To apply for and book a flat or bedroom at a Collegiate UK managed property, you must pay a reservation fee (described herein as “Reservation Rent”). This payment is made at the time of booking through our online booking system. The Reservation Rent is set as £50 for re-bookers (existing students renewing their stay) and £100 for new applicants.

You will have 3 days from making your booking to sign the Tenancy Agreement. The Reservation Rent is fully refundable if you cancel your booking within this period. If you do not cancel within the 3-day period, the Reservation Rent will be non-refundable. Once the Tenancy Agreement has been signed, the Reservation Rent will be held until the first rental payment falls due under your Tenancy Agreement and will be offset against the amount due.

To cancel your booking, you must inform the property you booked with in writing via email.

You may be eligible to be released from your agreement if:

    • Your offer of a place at your preferred University/Higher Education institution is withdrawn (No Place, No Pay). You must inform us within 7 days of receiving your rejection and provide a written rejection letter from your chosen university/college. The final deadline for submitting this evidence is 30th August.

    • Your visa application is declined (No Visa, No Pay – applicable to international students only). You must inform us within 7 days of receiving the visa refusal and provide official evidence of the rejection. The final deadline for submitting this evidence is 30th August.

    • You have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from taking your place at university. Requests of this nature will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and supporting evidence will be required.

In order to meet the criteria, you will need to provide appropriate supporting documentation, such as a written rejection letter from your chosen university/college or official notification of visa refusal, or other relevant evidence for extenuating circumstances.

It is important that you understand that when you sign your Tenancy Agreement, you are entering into a legally binding agreement with the Landlord and are liable for the full rent due for the Residential Period.

CANCELLATION OF YOUR BOOKING BY COLLEGIATE UK

Our terms and conditions require you to sign your Tenancy Agreement within 3 days of making your booking. If you fail to sign your agreement within this timescale, we may cancel your booking by giving notice via email, and you may forfeit the Reservation Rent if it is outside the 3-day cooling-off period.

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your booking, we will notify you in writing and offer alternative accommodation. If the alternative is not suitable, you will have the option to cancel your booking and receive a full refund of any rent paid.

Any approved refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the required documentation.

Do You Need a Guarantor?

Most landlords and letting agents require a UK-based guarantor. Without one, you may be asked to pay your full year's rent upfront. To help students navigate this, we've partnered with Housing Hand, which can provide a recognised certificate of rental guarantee, giving both you and your landlord peace of mind.

It's worth knowing that several of our student halls don't require a UK-based guarantor at all, allowing students to pay rent in convenient instalments instead. To find out which properties qualify and how to get started, reach out to our team. We're happy to guide you through the booking process from start to finish.

  • For over a year, I have been residing here. No stress and no discomfort. It is a place that you can confidently call a home. Thanks to the amazing management that keeps unravelling loads of social activities and surprise packages to her residents. The management is so proactive and provides us with adequate and top notch facilities. As a student, If I were to choose a hostel to stay again, I will undoubtedly choose Upper Quay House.

Accommodation is very spacious compared to others I’ve been to. All necessary facilities are here and bedrooms are en-suite. Flats are shared between 6 people and all the people I’ve been with have been so lovely. I recommend

Affordable student accommodation in a great location. UQH is a great place for students local to Gloucester, or attending UWE Bristol as the train station is less than a 15 minute walk. The only reason I rated 4/5 stars is due to the lack of heating for the first two months I stayed here. It was eventually fixed, but definitely could have been faster. The staff in the office and the maintenance worker are great, and UQH have definitely made moving from home easier.

Upper Quay House is a conducive and serene place to reside as a student. It is equipped with adequate facilities. Specifically, if you ask me of one major reason I chose Quay House over other accommodations, I would confidently tell you that it is well-insulated from cold. In fact, you might not need to turn on your heater on most occasions during cold season. Another admirable thing about this accommodation is that the administrators are really friendly and charming. They give listening ears to the tenants and attend to issues promptly. You can give it a trial and I can assure you that there will be no regret.
