Our student accommodation Glasgow is perfectly located close to all of the city’s universities and colleges and all are within easy walking distance of the accommodation. Base Glasgow is on the doorstep of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland which has chosen Base Glasgow as its exclusive student residence. Base Glasgow is supported by excellent public transport links and is surrounded by theatres, cinemas and concert halls with a multitude of art and culture on the doorstep, as well as being close to sports venues and all of the fantastic nightlife and restaurants of Glasgow.

About Glasgow


For newcomers to Glasgow the initial escape to Scotland’s largest city might seem daunting, but right away you’ll find it is very easy to navigate. A grid system ensures that it is always easy to find your way to your destination in the centre and the subway system works on a simple loop, which is easy to get around on. For many students most destinations for work and pleasure can be easily reached either by foot or bike so you won’t have to spend too much of your student loan on getting around.

There is a certain allure to Glasgow life, which ultimately sees many students stay well beyond their University stay. Wandering around the streets you’ll find some stunning historical buildings, beautifully designed, and the free-to-enter Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art provide stunning examples of art from all eras. For shopping head over to Buchanan Street or one of the many shopping centres in the city. If you are into films you can find the usual blockbuster cinema complexes but also older art cinemas, such as The Glasgow Film Theatre. As a UNESCO City of Music, Glasgow provides ample opportunity for both grassroots music listening and touring bands of a high stature. If you are a bit of a foodie, Glasgow offers diverse cuisine, and is also one of the best places for vegan food in the whole of the UK.

Glasgow is also home to a selection of beautiful outdoor parks and attractions, such as the Botanic Gardens, Pollok Country Park and Kelvingrove Park. As far as being close to other parts of the country, Glasgow is a central transportation hub for travel down South to the North of England and beyond, but also East to Edinburgh as well as north to the national parks. Scotland is home to some stunning nature and wildlife, with quiet country pursuits and awe-inspiring walking holidays available, all within easy reach of Glasgow.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations: Risk-Free Bookings for 2021/22

Book your accommodation for the 2021/22 academic year before 30th June 2021 and cancel on or before that date with no penalty.*

*Only valid for direct bookings and bookings made via International Agents. Bookings made under University nomination agreements are excluded from this offer. Only valid for tenancies of more than 43 weeks. Cancellations must be made via email to the Residents’ Team of the accommodation booked and must be received on or before 23:59 on Wednesday 30th June 2021. Any advance rent payments made will be refunded once we have confirmed the cancellation of the booking. This offer may be removed or amended at any time.

After the 30th June we operate a 72 hour “cooling off” period up to the 31st July so if your circumstances change you can cancel your booking. To cancel your booking you need to email the Residents’ Team within 72 hours of signing your Tenancy Agreement. You will then be refunded your advance rent contribution payment.

From the 1st August the “cooling off” period is reduced to 24 hours.

Once the “Cooling Off” period has expired, you can cancel your booking if:
• You do not have a visa to enter the UK
• You have not acquired the grades to be offered a place at the chosen university
• You have failed to achieve the grades to continue your study at university In these circumstances, you can cancel your booking prior to the tenancy start date by providing evidence to the General Manager within 72 hours of being notified. Please send your UCAS notification/ Visa refusal documentation to the General Manager within 72 hours of receiving it.

There are no other circumstances when we will accept a request for cancellation either before or during the tenancy. It may be possible with the Landlord’s agreement to transfer your obligations to someone else who is eligible to live at the property. There is no obligation on our part to find you a replacement tenant. You can advertise your accommodation or undertake your own search for a replacement tenant. If you find a replacement tenant we will need to do some basic checks to confirm their eligibility to take over the tenancy. Before we will accept a new tenant your account and all obligations need to be up to date and any rent due up to the changeover will need to be paid. Once the new person has signed the tenancy agreement and made the first rent payment they will take responsibility for future rent payments and all other obligations as stated in the agreement.
