Cancellation policy

    Unless the context otherwise requires, words and expressions defined in your Common Law Tenancy Agreement shall have the same meanings in this cancellation policy.
    Unless the tenancy agreement has already commenced and if you have not collected your key, you may also cancel at any time within the period of fourteen (14) days of the date on which you sign your first tenancy agreement for the 2026/27 Academic Year or Semester (the "Cooling-off Period"). During the cancellation period, you may cancel your tenancy by giving notice in writing or by e-mail to the manager at the property.
    Once we receive such a notice, we will confirm receipt, cancel your tenancy, and will refund your advance rent payment, together with any other payment of rent you may have made.

    Outside the cooling-off period, you may request to cancel your tenancy by notice in writing or by e-mail to the manager at the property.
    However, you shall remain liable for the rent payable under the terms of the tenancy agreement until a suitable replacement tenant has been secured. It is the tenant’s responsibility to find and suggest a suitable replacement. Liability for rent will continue until the replacement tenant has completed their fourteen (14) day cooling-off period.

    If you are not successfully awarded a visa to travel and study, then we can help.
    Firstly, we may be able to transfer you to another one of our residences around the globe if you are going to study elsewhere.
    If you are not going to study elsewhere or we do not have accommodation available in your new city/town of study, we will release you from your tenancy agreement, provided the following criteria are met:
    1. You submit your request to cancel, in writing or by e-mail to the manager at the property, within 3 days of your visa rejection letter: and
    2. You provide the manager with a copy of your rejection letter from the embassy or visa office.

    If your tenancy has commenced, you will remain liable for the rent payable under the tenancy agreement until receipt of the above.

    This applies to prospective first-year undergraduate students only
    If you are not successful in obtaining your place at your chosen university, then don’t worry, we can help. Firstly, we may be able to transfer you to another one of our residences if you are going to study elsewhere.
    If you are not going to study elsewhere or we do not have accommodation available in your new city/town of study, we will release you from your tenancy agreement, provided the following criteria are met:

    1. You submit your request to cancel, in writing or by e-mail, to the manager at the property, before 22nd August 2026; and

    2. You provide the manager with a copy of your rejection letter from the University or UCAS.

    Once we have your request, we will confirm receipt and refund your advance rent payment, together with any other rent payments you may have made.

    All bookings are subject to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks in accordance with relevant UK regulations. If a booking fails these checks, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and refund any payments made.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am 16, can I still book an accommodation with CRM?

Yes, you can only if you are booking in Scotland where the legal age is 16 but in other countries we only accept bookings from individuals over 18. Additionally we only accept students with full time education.

Can I get female only accommodation?

Yes, we do offer accommodations exclusively for women, but only with prior notice and subject to available rooms.

Why do you need a Guarantor?

If you're planning to pay your rent in installments, we ask for a UK Guarantor. This adds security, ensuring rent is paid in full even if you can't make a payment.

What's involved in being a Guarantor?

By becoming a Guarantor, you're agreeing to cover the rent and vouch for the resident's behavior if they can't pay. Please only agree if you're comfortable taking on this responsibility.

    Carrick has been a great place to live this past year! I had an issue come up, and the team were fantastic—really helpful and made sure everything was sorted quickly. The kitchens are modern and spacious, and it’s a great social area where I’ve gotten to know everyone in my flat!

Living here for my first year was the best decision i have made, the location is perfect, everything is always clean and there’s always a friendly atmosphere.     I've had a fantastic experience living here, and a huge part of that is down to Alex and the team at reception. They are absolutely amazin, always helpful, welcoming, and the reception is always open whenever you need them. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble. The rooms themselves are amazing too, really well kept and a great place to call home during your studies. A special mention has to go to Carrick Café, which they host in the hall such a cool concept and a great place to grab something and hang out. On top of that, having a snooker and pool table available is a brilliant touch that really brings the community together. Highly recommend this hall to any student, the facilities are great, but it's the people that really make it feel like home. Thank you Alex and the whole team!

    Living at Carrick View is wonderful! I love my room and flat and the staff are so friendly, patient and supportive. John is very quick to fix and help with things and all of the ambassadors and staff are lovely and super helpful. Esme and Alex have been particularly considerate and focused on making my stay as comfortable as possible and I feel I have built a trustworthy bond with them all.
