    • What Happens If I Want To Cancel My Booking

    Get in touch and tell us straight away. How much we can help will depend on the timing and the circumstances of your cancellation.
    Licence Agreements are legally binding, so once you have signed and returned your contract, you're required to pay your rent. If (under special circumstances only) you need to withdraw from the Licence Agreement, we'll try to find a replacement Licensee for your room, but we can't guarantee we'll be able to. If a new Licensee is found, then we can release you from your licence, but there will be a re-licence fee*. If you require a copy of the re-licence terms and conditions, please get in touch with us.

    Once you have paid your Advance Rent and you have been allocated a room, then, should you decide to cancel, the amount is equal to the lesser of
    (i) the Advance Rent and
    (ii) the amount equivalent to one week’s Licence Fee is non-refundable.
     If you have paid the Advance Rent and the licence agreement has been accepted by both parties, then you will be held to the terms of the licence until a replacement licensee is found.

    Once you have paid your Advance Rent and you have been allocated a room, then, should you decide to cancel before the start of the licence period, you will be entitled to a full refund of the Advance Rent.     Once signed, you're legally bound to pay rent. If cancelling, we try to find a replacement licensee, with a re-licence fee applicable.

     You're committed to full rent unless a replacement is found. Refunds for unused rent are given once the new licensee's booking is confirmed.
  • Guarantor

    If you want to pay your rent in instalments, we accept both UK and International guarantors. This is someone willing to sign a contract saying they’ll pay your rent if you fail to do so. Your guarantor cannot be another student or the government. In the circumstances where you do not have a guarantor, you can register with Housing Hand, who will act as a guarantor, subject to meeting their terms and conditions.
    Alternatively, you will need to pay your rent for the whole Licence Agreement/AST in advance.

Do You Need a Guarantor?

Most landlords and letting agents require a UK-based guarantor. Without one, you may be asked to pay your full year's rent upfront. To help students navigate this, we've partnered with Housing Hand, which can provide a recognised certificate of rental guarantee, giving both you and your landlord peace of mind.

It's worth knowing that several of our student halls don't require a UK-based guarantor at all, allowing students to pay rent in convenient instalments instead.     I had the privilege of staying in Westwood i this year, and I can confidently say that it was an outstanding experience. I would highly recommend this accommodation to any current students who are searching for the perfect place to live with friends. One of the standout features of this accommodation was the shuttle bus service, which proved to be incredibly beneficial. The convenience of having a shuttle to transport us to and from campus made managing our daily schedules much easier. This service was not only reliable but also a significant time-saver, allowing us to focus more on our studies and activities. In addition, a wonderful sense of community was fostered by the brilliant members of staff. They hosted events throughout the year which brought residents together, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. The experience of being away from home was far more enjoyable through these events. The maintenance staff deserves special recognition for their diligent work. Their prompt response to maintenance requests was highly appreciated. The moving-in process was smooth and hassle-free, thanks to the dedicated staff who were readily available to assist with any questions or concerns. Once again, I highly recommend applying to Westwood Mews as the experience is unforgettable.
