Gasa Lamai Singye, The story of their star-crossed love, one of Bhutan's most famous tales.

It's a very old ancient Bhutanese house of a legendary love story of a couple called galem and singye. They fell in love with each other so deeply. Singye was a civil servants in punakha who was sent to other district for some work. When boy was gone for work Galem was pregnant and was chased out f home by parents. Before singye could come to meet Galem, she died and her death body was burned but boy made it to cremation whereby he jumped inside the fire and both of them died. Till date their love story is really famous and fascinating to everyone.

Just a few yards from the Punakha Dzong is this house where a couple gave up their lives for their love for each other, Romeo and Juliet of Bhutan. Nothing much to see and entry inside is not allowed.
