I checked out today so I’m gonna be honest. I didn’t really like it(personal opinion), location wasn’t the best although some people might like the location. Putting this aside here are the things that I didn’t like -The wall between the rooms are so thin like you could literally here if the room next to you is talking and you can understand what they are saying as well. This is assuming they’re not speaking loudly.You’ll literally hear every door in the flat, whenever someone opens or closes the door you’ll hear it loudly. Now for the good things (the reason it’s rated 4 stars) - Staff are really friendly and helpful , no one from the staff/reception team was ever rude to me at any point. - The rooms have fans, small fans but they work really good. It’s loud but you’ll get used to it as it cancels other noise (e.g if your flatmate was loud)

The accommodation was amazing!! It was like being at home, all staff was amazing especially Karen!! She always had a smile on her face, always asking people how they was and just really kind!! Definitely recommend staying at altura!!!

Lovely accommodation, my daughter has been so happy here over her 2 years at uni. Friendly staff and always very welcoming when I was visiting. Would definitely recommend if your looking for accommodation for your child attending a local university

My stay at the accommodation was amazing a home away from home. The staff were so lovely especially Karen always went above and beyond. Nothing was to much for her and always there to help. The accommodation was clean and tidy. Can’t fault my time there. Really recommend!!

As I move to another city for postgraduate study in few months, I have recently left Altura after 2 years living here. Altura felt like a second home to me. I stayed in a top floor studio with en-suites shower and kitchen. The furnitures are in good shape. The room design is modern and stylish. The view from my studio is gorgeous. I enjoyed looking out my window. Sometimes I could even see beautiful sunset. The security in this building is good as it is 24/7. The sound insulating in my floor is better than I expected. Most of the time, the stay is quiet and peaceful. The staffs took a great care of me during my stay, especially the loveliest manager, Karen who is a good listener; someone never hesitate to lend a helping hand to others. Living alone far away from your home country is not easy. I am deeply thankful to Karen and Altura team for encouraging and supporting me during my difficult time . If anyone looking for a place to stay, I would recommend Altura . The location is convenient. It is easy to transport to the centre, Birmingham New street train station (less than 10 minutes) , Bullring (less than 10 minutes), various universities and other parts of the city as there are nearby bus stops and a train station right accross the road. As a UOB student, I went to school by bus almost everyday and it took me around 20 minutes. It stopped right in front of the North entrance of UOB. Sometimes I will go to university by train if I need to get there quickly . It is only one stop by train. Additionally, there are nearby supermarkets from Morrisons, Tesco Express, Sainsbury Local to Asian supermarkets which can be easily get there on foot. Odeon Broadway Luxe Cinema is 10 minutes on foot while Broad street can be accessed in less than 5 minutes on foot. Moreover, there is a canal walk entrance just 2 minutes from Altura. I often have a walk along the canal , all the way to Gas Street Basin and Brindley Place in 15 minutes. Altura has communal area including study rooms, study space, cinema room. Also, it has a gym, pool table and a piano . There are multiple events organised throughout the year from welcome party to Halloween party to Xmas and New year party and so forth. Those events are free to attend with lots of freebies. If you are interested in meeting new friends, it is a ideal place to live.
