Edit (I realised this is a lengthy review so here is a quick summary of what I wrote): I’ve just finished my stay at this iQ accommodation and it’s been the best of my three student halls so far. Facilities are reliable (beds, laundry, kitchens, gym/cinema), but what really stands out is the staff. Reception, maintenance, and housekeeping were supportive, approachable, and made the building feel like home Original: (First of all nothing I write will ever live up to the amazing standards IQ provided with, but I will try) I’ve just finished my time living here, and leaving feels bittersweet. This was my third student accommodation in three years, and I can honestly say this has been the best. The basics were all great, the beds were genuinely the comfiest I’ve ever had in student halls (and after the long shifts/uni days, that mattered more than anything). The karaoke room, cinema, and gym were always in good condition. I never had any issues with The laundry room and it always worked without drama (a miracle in student living!). Personally the trains were never really an issue for me, but I live near an airport so… and the kitchens being cleaned fortnightly made such a difference, let’s be honest, students aren’t always the cleanest 🫣. The housekeeping team deserve real credit for keeping everything in good shape it made day-to-day life easier without us even realising how much work went into it. But what makes this place outstanding isn’t the facilities, it’s the people. The reception team (Dylan and Beth) genuinely defined my experience here. They weren’t just professional, they were approachable, patient, consistently kind and attentive. In my very first week I got lost more times than I’d like to admit, and they always pointed me the right way with a smile. Later on, when things became tougher (especially over the festive period) they were there too: helping me through a room change, checking in and creating an atmosphere where I felt safe and supported. It wasn’t an easy year, but those small moments of kindness made a huge difference. And I’ve got to give a proper shoutout to the maintenance team as well. They were always quick, always friendly, and sorted things without fuss. Their reliability kept everything running smoothly, and they deserve the same recognition. Especially Versillies! (Im sorry if I spelt your name wrong..) The facilities here were good, but it’s the staff reception, housekeeping, and maintenance that made my experience truly memorable. They turned what could have been just another building into a place that felt like home. I’ll always be grateful for that, and I hope this review shows just how much they deserve the recognition.

Really enjoyed my time here so far! Everyone who works at reception, especially Phoebe, Beth and Dylan, are super helpful. Maintenance is speedy and reliable. I love the study space in the mezzanine as an alternative to studying in my room.

My first and favourite accomodation so far. Great stuff, young and kind. Someone is always on site 24/7 and my floormates are all very friendly. Everyone should experience a student life like this in such a place surrounded by good people.

I was very anxious to book here, as I hadn’t seen the place before and I’m coming from a different country, but tbh it was a good decision on my part. The place is great—my ensuite room is spacious, the bathroom is really nice and clean, and the kitchen has three hoods, with each student having their own cabinets (though I would prefer a better ventilation system for the kitchen). The gym is small but does the job. I also really like the social spaces—the study rooms, communal area, and terrace. The staff are very, very lovely and friendly. Finally, it’s a lovely area—Finsbury. It's close to the center (zone 2). It has two beautiful nearby parks. The tube (subway) is very close, and there are two bus stops right in front of the dorm. The area has also a great diversity which was good because I feel homesick alot and it's nice to have multiple middle eastern supermarkets nearby. I’m writing this review because I know how it feels to look for accommodation when you’re in a different country or continent and terrified of everything. Below are pics either from the dorm itself, front door (bus stops), or nearby parks. 🫶🏼 P.S. The railroad noise does exist, it's true but only if you open the window.

Frequently Asked Questions

The physical safety and psychological security of the students is taken care of at the property. This is done through the use of CCTV cameras, on-site security staff and on-site teams available around the clock, 365 days a year. Secure door entry is also employed at the entrance to the property. This can only be breached if you physically open the door for someone. That is why we suggest you take special care to not allow people to tailgate you.
The property does not accept guardianship of the students under the age of 18.
The short answer is yes, as long as you meet all the prerequisites. This means that before you bring a TV, you must know whether your room has a TV point. Your TV should not be larger than 21 inches and should be able to free-stand as wall-mounted TVs are not allowed. The property provides TVs and TV licenses in the communal areas but if you want a TV in your own room, you will have to arrange for a license yourself. If you have any more questions, you can check in with the on-site team.
Yes, most sites feature dedicated bike storage areas. As long as you are a resident at the property, have registered your bike and obtained a bike tag, you will be able to bring and store your bikes at the property.
Yes, you can bring your car and most properties do have dedicated car storage space. Having said that, the number of car storage spaces are limited and are filled very quickly. Also to be noted is the fact that most of these places are situated close to the university and everyday amenities, makes the role of a car redundant. Therefore, we suggest that you consider all factors before deciding.
