Emily Davies, Southampton

Email Davies or Muggy Towers as it was affectionately known for my friends and I. It's a defecation hole, but it was our defecation hole. That is perhaps a bit harsh. I had some of the best times of my life there with friends I know still 2 years on from leaving and treasure the possibility to see them again! The accommodation is the basic barebones but what you need. The medium and large rooms were a little pricey but the small rooms were fair value, not good just fair. No communal room but as we were all friends to start with we just went in and out of each others rooms however the small rooms actually got he most use but the 4 of us. Oh it is 4 to a flat, 1 large and medium room, 2 small ones. There is a communal kitchen, shower and toilet with sink split between the 4 rooms. The washing machines are shared for the whole site, 4 washers and 4 dryers. There is an onsight reception share between an admin person during the weekdays and then a student for the weekends, if I remember well. Entry to the block and you flat is accessible via a key fob. You room is lockable. The walls a thin and you can hear through them. There is powerful heater in the room for the cold winter months. The room is furnished with a cupboard, bedside table and a desk and chair with a set of drawers. Towel rail bin and shelves are also in the room. Any bedding however you will need to get yourself, but with Asda on you door steps that is easy to get stuff. Close by things of interest. Within 10 min walk from halls you can get to the town centre. Plenty of places to drink, Turtle Bay was our local. Other than that may food place in West Quay and Wesy Quay 2. Cloths shops galore cinema an more. For transport out of thr city the train station and national express ar with that 10 min walk. There are plenty of buses around however i never needed to use them. Taxis are about and so to is uber. The Solent campus may be about 15min walk and 20 min for the Warsash students in St Mary's.

Great student accommodation! Lovely staff, always there to help :) Very convenient place to stay in you want to be close to city centre. Beautiful rooms for fair price! I had a great year living there!

It is an ideal student residence with reasonable price for students. I feel very much at home here. The location is excellent, close to the train station, supermarkets, bus stops and west quay, high street, and marlands, all within a 5 minute walk. It's worth mentioning that all the staff here are friendly and happy to help you, and there will be snacks and food for the students during the some festivals. There are also great fitness facilities, a common kitchen, a cinema room, and a free laundry room.

I’m a student living at Emily Davies, and I’ve had a really good experience here. The place is comfortable, the staff are helpful, and it feels safe. I’d definitely recommend it to other students!!!
