Terrible management. I was asked to move out twice in half a year for water pipe fixing and refurbishment. I understand that there are cases that require tenants' cooperation, but the frequency here is unusual. I agree with Petrus Palomurto's comment about the staff here. When you really have some issues with them, they are patronizing and trying to lecturing you something irrelevant but avoiding to fix the problem. I lived in the United States for 2.5 years and then have lived in Japan for 7 years, living with uncountable different accommodations, from a teenager to an adult. I luckily had 0 conflict with the people there and problems are always properly solved. This accommodation really broke my record. Edit: 0. It is a problematic building. You are paying rent to discover issues both inside and outside the building, and also coordinating with contractors every month. 1. I withdrew one star because of my recent experience. They asked me to moved back from 18:00 to next 9:00 but without reactivating the key. What made it worse was that nobody in reception until 19:00 of that day. I was locked out with my baggage for about one hour. 2. Irregular fire alarm test and no hot water after that (they are trying to fix the hot water issue recently 29/01/2024). It is said that they would test fire alarm system every Tuesdays. However in the last 13 months, they sometimes tested it irregularly due to unknown reasons. For this week, they tested it twice without any notification (Tuesday and Friday). This issue began in 2023 and continues up to my most recent edit. Since last November, hot water on the ground and fourth floors has consistently been unavailable after tests. And the heaters would also be unavailable in G02 (4th floor not tested yet) after fire alarm tests. Update: they tested fire alarm system 16 times in 60 minutes (from 14:20 to 15:20, 2023/11/21). They also tested fire alarm system 4 times in 10 minutes. (from 16:35 to 16:45, April 3rd 2024) 3. Terrible WiFi service. The apartments of Unite Students group in Glasgow are using WiFi service provided by a company called Glide. You can search for Glide and view the reviews from google. They explained why it is terrible very well. 4. They are sending spam emails through their own info email address and "MyUnite" app. For example, they are sending advertisements for a company called "Blackbullion". You cannot unsubscribe these emails. Hence you can only block this address but you will also lose the info related to your accomodation in future. 5. If you have to live here, it is better to pick a room that does not face the street. Local teenagers will sing, yell, and shout in the midnight hours, especially on Saturday nights, across Kelvinhaugh Street since there is a pub nearby. Furthermore, Glasgow has a so-called 'boy-racers' problem (see https://shorturl.at/ABKY0 and https://shorturl.at/clDHM). Some people drive cheap cars with modified engines, which causes noise that is exceptionally loud. Unfortunately, Kelvinhaugh Street is their chosen route. If you want to have a quiet sleep, choose a room facing the yard instead of the street. In conclusion, if you only view it as a place to sleep and shower, I think Tramworks is still an okay place to stay, since you can avoid or bear most problems mentioned above. However, if you plan to stay longer in your room, please reconsider your decision.

I've just moved in, the staff are very very very nice, the small problem was the badge for opening the door didn't work because "it's a new door", the running gag happened twice this week but that was quickly sorted out, I've also had the problem twice with the toilet flush not stopping turning but that was also sorted out quickly! In the unitestudent app you can submit maintenance request and it's very helpful!

Awful experience... Always read the policy agreements. I moved into Teamworks in 2022. As I came into the room, it was dirty, the bathroom had horrible brown stains and splashes all over the walls. The worst part was the MOULDY bathroom ceiling. There was black mould on the ceiling where there were clearly leaks and cracks in the plaster. The stench of mould was overwhelming. I told my problems to reception and they said they can't really do anything: "all the other rooms are already booked or taken". They said the cleaner must've not come around yet (I came on time for my allocated time slot). I was told I cannot give back my keys and refuse tenancy because it starts when you pick up the keys from reception not after you view the room. I was even told by a receptionist that I can sleep in the common room, on the couch that night, while I wait for the cleaner to arrive the next day. I still had 24 hours to dispute the room but the manager wasn't on site so I had to email. I still wasn't able to cancel tenancy over a potential health threat in my room (black mould). They sent out some painters a week later to PAINT over the mould. The issue with mould wasn't really fixed, it was just painted over. In the end I had to find a replacement tenant to cancel my tenancy agreement. Maybe I was just unlucky with my experience, but my situation was handled atrociously and I moved out two weeks later. It was a really stressful experience and I would suggest anyone avoid it.
