Egham town centre is just a 10-minute stroll from The Pad, and has a good range of supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops and other amenities. The town is well connected to London, with direct train journeys to London Waterloo taking around 40 minutes. You can also access Heathrow Airport by bus in around half an hour.

You'll find plenty to see and do locally, with attractions such as the Thorpe Park theme park, Windsor Castle and the beautiful Windsor Great Park all a short distance from Egham.

My experience so far at the pad has been great. Reading the other reviews I'm not sure where all of these issues are coming from as my experience has been smooth from the beginning. I have had the occasional cold shower or minor issue in my room but they are usually quick to help out. Having spoken to my friends living on campus and being woken up at 5am every morning to fire alarms or their radiators not working, it has definitely paid off choosing here. There have been some recent staffing changes but the new team is so friendly and they always remember your name. If any inspections are needed they will email you in advance and encourage you to talk to them if there are any issues. I would definitely recommend a studio at the pad if you're not keen on sharing with 8-15 people on campus!

I’ve had a great time at the pad. Not sure where all the negativity is coming from in the othr reviews. The staff are so nice, Min the maintenance guy is so quick to fix things as soon as I report it and the people at reception are always going out of their way to help. just had a refurb as well so the kitchens and rooms look much better than before. It’s also 2 secs from the uni and like 10 minutes walk down to the town

Really really nice place to stay if you’re going to RHUL. It is right next door and the place looks great after they’ve refurbed it The team are so lovely. big shout out to Yara and Min for always being there to help me and for accommodating all my requests. I was very worried at the start of the year especially when they announced they will have construction going on during exams but it was done very well. Yara was always there and explained the process to me multiple times and she put my mind at ease about my belongings and what the place looks like now was very worth it. Min was also there to help with anything that went wrong in my room and it’s always been fixed before I could think about it. There’s also a few new people I haven’t had the chance to get to know yet but I’m sure they would be just as amazing Only problems were with hot water sometimes and the security people weren’t always very helpful and there were proboems with wifi sometimes but it still is a lovely place to stay I’m very sad that I won’t be here again as i’d have loved to enjoy the new spaces!

Whilst we haven’t actually moved in yet I wanted to say that if the experience of actually living at the Pad is half as good as the amazing admin team in Egham, I am sure my son’s year will be his best year yet. Nothing has been too much trouble for Sharon, Lucy and the team there and it has made me hugely confident that my son will be very happy living there.

Frequently Asked Questions

The physical safety and psychological security of the students is taken care of at the property. This is done through the use of CCTV cameras, on-site security staff and on-site teams available around the clock, 365 days a year. Secure door entry is also employed at the entrance to the property. This can only be breached if you physically open the door for someone. That is why we suggest you take special care to not allow people to tailgate you.
The property does not accept guardianship of the students under the age of 18.
The short answer is yes, as long as you meet all the prerequisites. This means that before you bring a TV, you must know whether your room has a TV point. Your TV should not be larger than 21 inches and should be able to free-stand as wall-mounted TVs are not allowed. The property provides TVs and TV licenses in the communal areas but if you want a TV in your own room, you will have to arrange for a license yourself. If you have any more questions, you can check in with the on-site team.
Yes, most sites feature dedicated bike storage areas. As long as you are a resident at the property, have registered your bike and obtained a bike tag, you will be able to bring and store your bikes at the property.
Yes, you can bring your car and most properties do have dedicated car storage space. Having said that, the number of car storage spaces are limited and are filled very quickly. Also to be noted is the fact that most of these places are situated close to the university and everyday amenities, makes the role of a car redundant. Therefore, we suggest that you consider all factors before deciding.
