I stayed at Abbeygate in my first year and moved away for second but had to come back for my third year as it was the best accommodation I have been in. The staff members are amazing, Carly the manager, The RSA joel and lynsey have been outstanding staff at Abbeygate. I have had no issues staying at Abbeygate and if I did I know that I would be looked after. Abbeygate is an amazing accommodation to stay at it’s affordable, reliable and close to the town centre!

A really comfortable and welcoming place for students! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful — from check-in to settling in, I felt well-supported. Everything was clearly explained, and they even help with getting my stuff to my room. I do wish there was a small check-in window on Saturdays for those of us arriving from overseas, as flight times can be tricky. Thankfully, they informed me ahead of time so I could plan accordingly. Paying for washing isn’t my favorite part — it’s a bit of a drag — and there are quite a few doors and stairs to get through. But beyond that, I feel very safe here. You can tell they take fire and emergency safety seriously, and I really appreciate their encouragement of recycling and sustainability. Big shoutout to Joey and Carly — absolute gems! They always make sure students feel supported and never lost. Overall, Abbeygate feels like a safe, well-run space where students can truly settle in and feel at home away from home.

Living at Abbeygate (Homes for Students) in Chester has been a great experience. The location is one of the biggest advantages – it’s right in the city centre, within walking distance to shops, bus stops, and Chester campus buildings, which makes student life so much easier. The building feels safe and secure, and the staff are always friendly, approachable, and quick to help with any issues. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well-designed, with good storage space and a cosy feel. The common areas are also well maintained, offering a nice place to socialise or study. Maintenance requests are handled quickly, and communication from the team is always clear. Overall, Abbeygate provides great value for money, a supportive environment, and a stress-free living experience. I would definitely recommend it to any student looking for reliable, comfortable accommodation in Chester.

The place is amazing and close to the university. Had zero issues during my stay and the place is kept really neat (thanks to Lynsey). Carly, the manager is the best..makes everyone feel at home and safe. Joel in maintenance is a wonderful member of staff who's always helpful!! Totally would recommend staying here 10/10.

I love living here the staff are so friendly and kind. Rooms are cozy and clean and comfortable to live in. Carly the site manager is always there if you have any queries or just need some support. Joel is always there for any maintenance issues that you have and is too a friendly face in the office. Lyns keeps the place looking lovely.
