I’m very disappointed with my experience at Unite Students – The Rackhay and would not recommend it. Over a prolonged period I experienced repeated disturbance (including noise issues) and raised this multiple times with staff, including a meeting on 2 December 2025 and a formal complaint. Despite reporting the impact on my ability to rest and study, I did not feel the issues were resolved in a meaningful way. When my wellbeing was affected and I requested an urgent move or early release from the tenancy, I provided medical evidence (including a GP letter). In writing, management stated that “compassionate” early release would only be considered if I also left the university, and that otherwise I must find my own replacement tenant and they would only support the transfer process. They also said they would “further consider” my situation only if I could provide additional evidence from the university. But this process takes long time. They don’t care my mental health problems and they have different attitudes towards Chinese students. I also found the communication inconsistent: I was given the impression I would receive more support, but later emails made clear that finding a replacement tenant was entirely my responsibility. Overall the process felt slow, stressful, and unhelpful at a time when I needed support. My advice: read the contract terms carefully before signing, keep everything in writing. Most important, find somewhere else if ur mental health is not good and need a quite space.
