About Purbeck House, Bournemouth
All rooms here at Purbeck House come with their own private bathroom. Most are arranged in cluster flats, which means you’ll share your kitchen and lounge with flatmates. If you’d rather live independently, ask about one of the small number of studio rooms available.
When you need a break from your room but you don’t want to leave home, you can head to the spacious common room. There you’ll find free pool, ping pong, and table football, as well as comfy sofas and a TV. There’s also an outdoor courtyard for grabbing some fresh air.
Another great thing about living here? ResLifeBU. That’s the scheme we run with Bournemouth University to welcome and support you during your time at Purbeck House. From socials and events to wellbeing support and skills sessions, your ResLifeBU resident assistants and welfare coordinators will help you get the most from your new home.
From here, the Talbot Campus is a 12 minute Unibus ride away. Bournemouth train station and the beautiful seafront are both less than 10 minutes’ walk away, and the city’s buzzing nightlife - including the Old Fire Station SU nightclub - is right on your doorstep. How to Cancel your Booking
3. No Place No Pay – applicable to 1st-year students only. If you are a prospective first-year undergraduate student and your offer of a place at your preferred University/Higher Education Institution is withdrawn by the University/Higher Education Institution as a result of you not achieving your required entry grades, you may be eligible to be released from this agreement. You may also be eligible to be removed from this agreement if you are a prospective first-year undergraduate student and choose to go to a different University because you have exceeded your expected grades. To apply to be released from this agreement in the circumstances referred to above, you will need to supply us with a copy of the following:
- a written rejection letter from your chosen university/college or UCAS or a screenshot of your UCAS status which confirms that the required results were not achieved; or
- a copy of the proof of acceptance of your new university by UCAS adjustment.
Do You Need a Guarantor?
Most landlords and letting agents require a UK-based guarantor. Without one, you may be asked to pay your full year's rent upfront. To help students navigate this, we've partnered with Housing Hand, which can provide a recognised certificate of rental guarantee, giving both you and your landlord peace of mind.
It's worth knowing that several of our student halls don't require a UK-based guarantor at all, allowing students to pay rent in convenient instalments instead. To find out which properties qualify and how to get started, reach out to our team. We're happy to guide you through the booking process from start to finish.
