Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Booking Information for 2020/21      

We fully understand that there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 at the moment and possible consequent travel restrictions. If you book a room for September 2020 today, but are then disallowed from travelling to the UK due to the relevant  Government travel restrictions, exclusively as a result of Covid-19 and therefore no longer require the room, you will be released from your booking – see below Terms & Conditions.

Terms & Conditions: 

 • This guarantee is open to all international students applying for higher education in the UK for the 2020/21 academic year.  

 • If an applicant is disallowed from travelling to the UK exclusively as a result of Covid19, they need to provide evidence from either the UK Government or from the  Government where you live confirming this advice (in English). This must be provided to the Host no later than 1st August 2020.  

• On production of the relevant Government confirmation (in English), the applicant's booking will be cancelled in full, with a full refund of any 2020/21 rental payments made.

• All applicants wishing to take up this option need to contact the accommodation where they placed their booking directly in order to activate this Guarantee.

• Any applicants who do not provide evidence by the dates outlined above, will be held to their tenancy agreement and will be liable for all contractual charges. 

• Email confirmation will be sent to all students that are accepted onto this guarantee once they have paid advance rent and confirmed their guarantor details where applicable. 

• Please note in the case of dual occupancy both parties must be eligible for this guarantee in order for it to apply. 

• Please note that if you cancel the room and rebook, the room may not be available, and the price may be revised in August and September 2020. 

• These terms and conditions are correct as of 25th March 2020 but the property provider reserves the right to change them or remove this guarantee at any time without prior notice.

    Most landlords and letting agents require a UK-based guarantor. Without one, you may be asked to pay your full year's rent upfront. To help students navigate this, we've partnered with Housing Hand, which can provide a recognised certificate of rental guarantee, giving both you and your landlord peace of mind.

    It's worth knowing that several of our student halls don't require a UK-based guarantor at all, allowing students to pay rent in convenient instalments instead.       I had a great time living at Host Northfield. It’s in a fantastic location just a 5–10 minute walk to the university forum. It’s also only an 8 minute walk to the Co-op, and there’s a corner shop just 3 minutes away. The accommodation also organises several events, which are a lot of fun and provide great opportunities to meet new people. As someone who is introverted, these events really helped me come out of my shell and form close friendships. Having the university so nearby was incredibly convenient—even on my laziest days, I could still make it to lectures on time. The staff were excellent. The receptionist, Jack, was always helpful with any issues we residents had and made everyone feel at home when showing us around the accommodation. The manager, Aziz, was also extremely helpful and, surprisingly, very approachable and easy to talk to despite being in a managerial role. My only regret is not moving in here during my first year! Advice for future residents: enjoy your time here and make the most of everything it has to offer!

      Living here this year has been quite nice, the rooms are spacious and relatively affordable compared to other accoms—worth it for the cost. Jack has been very helpful as the receptionist sorting out all our concerns and other issues even if they are outside his usual responsibilities. There are a couple of things that can be improved but overall have enjoyed living here so far.

      I really like here for the following reasons: 1. It has an excellent location, being close to both university and city center, with beautiful surroundings. There’s a convenience store just down the path, and St. David’s railway station is only about a five-minute walk away. 2. The staffs here are very friendly and have helped me solve many problems. 3. The shared kitchen in the en-suite is very spacious, and my own room is well-designed and comfortable!
