    About the halls

Nurtur is much more than student accommodation. It’s a friendly face to chat to, it’s a community, a home from home. It’s where students live to learn and learn to live.

Nurtur is a warm, friendly welcome. It’s a spacious studio apartment and socialising with friends in our homely living areas. It’s seeing familiar faces and getting to know new people.

It’s yoga on the roof terrace or spinning in the gymnasium. It’s a movie night or gaming tournament in the cinema room. It’s fast WiFi speeds, ‘smart laundry’ and information at your fingertips with our student portal.

In the heart of Sheffield, Nurtur House sets a new standard for student living in the city.

Located at Allen Street close to the city centre and the main university campuses, this stunning development offers an amazing standard of living with a strong focus on personal well-being.

    COVID-19 Information

    Everything you need to know

We hope you and your family are keeping well and safe during these unprecedented times. As you are aware, the coronavirus pandemic has altered the way of life as we know it; with this in mind, we wanted to let you know the plans we have in motion ahead of the upcoming academic year.

As a student accommodation provider, we are committed to nurturing the wellbeing of those students who choose to make Nurtur House their home. As months become weeks in the countdown to welcoming our residents this September, we are taking every step within our reach to ensure Nurtur House is not only a happy environment, but a safe and well one.

We already have several practices in place, which include:

    – All rooms at Nurtur House are studios with a private bathroom, providing students with the peace of mind that they are safe in their own space.
    – A smart laundry system, allowing students to monitor the availability of laundry machines from the comfort of their room, reducing unnecessary social interaction.
    – 24-hour-concierge to collect deliveries, including those of essential items.
    – Free high-speed broadband throughout the building to enable our students to maintain regular contact with friends and family.

    Extra steps

But what extra steps are we taking, to not only comply with government advice, but to surpass it?

    In-house testing for COVID-19
Nurtur House will host an on-site designated testing hub with free testing available to residents who feel they may be suffering with symptoms of COVID-19.
Our testing hub will be fully operational from September 2020, following the strictest of medical-assured guidelines, including the use of PPE. The testing hub will provide a result within 15 minutes, which will be 99.9% accurate.

Communal seating – treated with anti-virus barrier
All furniture in our communal spaces will be treated with Biomaster antimicrobial technology, which is incorporated into a wide range of textiles such as uniforms and soft furnishings, offering protection against both odour and illness causing bacteria.

    Anti-bacterial paint
Throughout the Nurtur House building, anti-bacterial paint will be distributed across our walls as an extra protection-barrier. Anti-bacterial paint helps to prevent the growth of bacteria, as well as fungi and mould, and has a 2-year protection life.
Johnstone’s Microbarr Anti-Bacterial Acrylic Matt is a high performance, tough acrylic resin based interior coating, formulated to assist in the fight against hospital acquired infections caused by harmful bacteria. Using Silver Ion technology, Johnstone’s Microbarr is proven to actively inhibit MRSA and E-Coli over the painted surface.

    Essential food delivery service
Our residents will have access to a delivery service to ensure they can always acquire essential items. A list of items available to order through the delivery service will be available in advance and will include items such as milk and bread.
This will operate on a pre-paid system which we hope will provide relief to those students who are concerned about leaving their studio to purchase essential items.

    Sterile cleaning
Students who would like to enquire about booking a sterile clean for their studio at any point during their tenancy can do so directly with our team. All cleaning schedules will adhere to government advice, including of social distancing measures.

    Anti-bacterial hand gel stations
Anti-bacterial hand gel stations will be distributed generously throughout the Nurtur House building, ensuring our residents can keep their hands clean. All those who enter the building will be encouraged to use our anti-bacterial hand gel stations.

    Personal protection equipment (PPE)
Masks, gloves, and pocket-sized hand sanitiser will be available to our students to collect from our reception area.

    Guide to cleaning studios
A complete cleaning guide will be available to our students upon their arrival, to provide peace of mind that the risk of their space harbouring harmful bacteria is reduced. Students can be assured that they will arrive to a clean studio apartment this September but may feel compelled to regularly clean and disinfect their space to help reduce the spread of bacteria linked to COVID-19.

    Communal area measures
We are delighted to offer our residents free access to communal spaces, such as a fully equipped gymnasium and study rooms. However, processes will be put in place to ensure residents are able to comply with social distancing guidelines.
Our cleaning staff will operate across the communal areas on a regular rota throughout the day. Each communal space will operate on a booking system for the foreseeable future, with only a limited number of students allowed in each area at any one time. Anti-bacterial cleaning products will be available in all communal areas, with all residents encouraged to clean down communal equipment before and after use.

We hope the extra steps we are taking will provide comfort to those who have chosen or are considering Nurtur House as their home this September.

    My tenancy

We understand that the current outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) is causing a period of uncertainty for a lot of people. That’s why we’ve answered all your questions about living at Nurtur House below, to give you peace of mind in these unprecedented times.
